Privacy Policy

Effective date: 21 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Polson app (“Polson”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information. Polson is provided by Ricky Chopra (“we”). If you have questions, contact us at support@polson.app.

We built Polson to respect your privacy. We collect only what the app needs to work, we do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to everyone who uses the Polson iOS app.

2. What we collect

Account identifier (Sign in with Apple). You sign in with Apple. Apple gives us an anonymous user identifier so we can recognise your account across your devices. We do not request or receive your name or email address from Apple.

Your gameplay and progress. As you play, we record information about your sessions so we can show your progress and sync it across your devices — for example: which games you played, whether you solved them, time spent, hints used, scores, and how that progress is spread across the different kinds of game.

Purchase status. If you buy a pack, Apple processes the payment (we never see your card details). We record which pack(s) you own so we can unlock your content, and we store an Apple sign-in token used only to properly close your account if you delete it.

We do NOT collect: your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, location, health records, advertising identifiers (no IDFA / no App Tracking Transparency prompt), or any third-party analytics.

3. How we use your information

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.

4. Legal basis (UK/EU users)

Where UK/EU data protection law applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the app and your account) and on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service. You can delete your account and data at any time (see section 8).

5. Where your data is stored and how we protect it

Your data is stored on your device and synced through Apple iCloud (CloudKit), into your own iCloud account rather than a database we run. We operate no server of our own for your data. Because it lives in your private iCloud storage, we have no ability to read it — that is a property of how CloudKit works, not a promise we are asking you to take on trust. It is covered by Apple's own security and by your Apple ID.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We rely on a small number of service providers (“processors”) who handle data only to run the service:

We may disclose information if required by law.

7. How long we keep it

Your data stays in your own iCloud for as long as you keep the app and want it there. We hold no separate copy to retain, so there is nothing on our side that outlives your decision to delete it (see section 8).

8. Your rights and choices

You can, at any time:

If UK/EU (or similar) law applies to you, you also have rights to access, correct, or object to processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO). To exercise these rights, contact support@polson.app.

9. Children

Polson is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the updated version with a new effective date, and where appropriate notify you in the app.
