Motion Frequency

Privacy Policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

Motion Frequency collects nothing about you. There is no account, no tracking, no advertising, and no Motion Frequency server for anything to be sent to. The sound is made on your iPhone, the pictures are drawn on your iPhone, and what you record is saved to your own photo library.

What the app does, and where

The sound

Every sound in the app is generated on your iPhone while you listen. There are no recordings and nothing is streamed. Motion Frequency does not use the microphone and never listens to you.

The pictures and the motion sensors

The rooms are real-time graphics drawn by your iPhone's GPU. Some of them answer the phone being tilted or shaken, which uses the phone's motion sensors. Those readings are used moment to moment to move the picture and are never stored or transmitted.

Recording

If you record a room, the video — with the app's own sound — is saved to your photo library and filed into an album called Motion Frequency. The app asks permission to add to your library, and to find that album again so everything you make stays together. It does not look at, read or analyse any of your other photos. The videos are yours: they are stored by Apple's Photos app under your own settings, including iCloud Photos if you use it, and Motion Frequency keeps no copy.

Our other apps

The ⓘ → Our other apps page lists our other apps. When you open it, Motion Frequency makes two requests:

Nothing about you or your use of Motion Frequency is sent in either. As with any website, the servers answering each request see your device's IP address in order to send the reply. Our website is hosted by Vercel, which may keep that address briefly in its logs; we don't use it to identify you, track you, or link it to anything else (see Vercel's privacy policy). The list is kept on your device so the page works offline, and tapping an app opens its page in Apple's App Store, under Apple's own privacy policy.

This is the only time Motion Frequency connects to the internet.

What Motion Frequency stores on your device

That's the complete list. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and deleting Motion Frequency removes all of it.

What we receive

Nothing directly. Motion Frequency contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting service and no third-party software development kits of any kind. Its only network connections are the two requests described under Our other apps, which send nothing about you.

Motion Frequency is bought once from the App Store, with no subscription. Apple handles the purchase; we never see your name, email address or payment details. If you have chosen in your iPhone's settings to share analytics with developers, Apple may give us aggregate, anonymous statistics such as how many people downloaded the app or how often it crashed. We cannot identify anyone from that, and you can turn it off at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Children

Motion Frequency is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete — but if you want to ask, or if you think this policy is wrong about something, please get in touch and we'll answer.

Changes to this policy

If Motion Frequency ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If a future version were to start collecting anything, we would say so plainly here and in the app before it did.
