These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Domain Seek iOS app (“Domain Seek”, “the app”), provided by Ricky Chopra (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Contact: support@polson.app.
Domain Seek is a research tool, not a registrar. It suggests names and tells you what it can find out about them. It does not sell domains, does not reserve them, and cannot guarantee that a name shown as available still will be when you go to buy it. Every purchase happens on a third-party registrar’s website, under that registrar’s terms.
Domain Seek turns an idea you type or speak into candidate business names, checks domain extensions against public registry data, and gives you research notes to help you judge a name. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Domain Seek is free. There is no subscription, and there are no in-app purchases. If that ever changes, it will be stated clearly in the app and on the App Store before you pay anything.
This is the most important thing on this page.
The app reports domain availability using public RDAP data published by domain registries. That data can be incomplete, delayed, or temporarily unreachable, and registry policies differ by extension. A domain can also be registered by somebody else in the time between the app checking it and you reaching the registrar’s checkout.
Any price the app shows is an indicative first-year price. Premium and reserved names can cost significantly more, and registrars set their own pricing, renewal rates, and fees. The price and availability shown by the registrar at checkout are the only ones that count.
We therefore do not warrant that any name shown is available, will remain available, will cost what the app estimates, or is free to use. Always confirm at the registrar before relying on a result.
The app’s research notes and advisor — including comments on meaning, spelling, sound, existing apps, or possible conflicts — are general information only. They are not legal, trademark, tax, or business advice, and they are not a trademark clearance search.
A domain being available does not mean a name is free to use. Trademarks, company names, and passing-off rights are separate from domain registration. Before you commit to a name, get advice from a qualified professional and run a proper trademark search. You are solely responsible for deciding whether a name is safe for you to use.
Names are produced automatically, partly by an on-device AI model. Generated names are suggestions, not vetted brands. They may coincide with existing companies, trademarks, or products; they may be unsuitable in a language or market we have not anticipated; and we make no claim of originality in them. We do not assert ownership of the names the app produces for you, and we cannot warrant that using one will not infringe someone else’s rights.
Some links out of the app — including registrar handoffs and Business Kit links — may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you sign up or buy through them. This never changes the price you pay. It does not influence whether a domain is reported as available, and the app tells you when a commission may apply at the point you follow the link.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Domain Seek on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. The names and research the app produces for you are yours to use commercially, subject to section 4 and section 5.
You agree not to copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or resell the app; to use it unlawfully; to use it to harass or infringe the rights of others; or to make automated or excessive requests through it that place an unreasonable load on the registry, App Store, or website services it relies on.
The app itself — its software, design, wordmark, and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the app to you.
Ideas, names, notes, and shortlists you create stay on your device. We do not receive them and therefore claim no rights over them. You are responsible for keeping your own copies — see our Privacy Policy.
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that registry or App Store data it depends on will be accurate or reachable, or that data stored on your device will always be preserved.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost business opportunity, wasted expenditure, or loss of data, arising from your use of the app — including any loss arising from a name or domain being unavailable, mispriced, already registered, or unsuitable for use. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it, which also removes the data it stored on your device. We may withdraw or restrict the app if you breach these Terms.
We may update these Terms. The current version is always on this page with its effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or EU, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law, and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
