The short version. Domain Seek has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no trackers. Your ideas, names, sweeps and notes are stored on your device only — we operate no server that receives them and we never see them.
The app does have to reach the internet to check whether a domain is taken. When it does, the domain name being checked is sent to the relevant registry — that is the whole mechanism, and it is described in full below.
This policy explains how the Domain Seek iOS app (“Domain Seek”, “the app”) handles information. The app is provided by Ricky Chopra (“we”, “us”). Questions: support@polson.app.
None. There is no account and no sign-in. We do not ask for, receive, or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, or any advertising identifier. There is no IDFA and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because the app does not track you.
We also run no analytics or crash-reporting SDK of any kind, so no usage data is sent to us or to a third party on our behalf.
Everything you create in the app is written to a private database inside the app on your iPhone:
iCloud sync for this data is explicitly disabled — the store is local. This data is included in your device’s own iPhone backup if you have one (that backup is controlled by you and Apple, not by us). Deleting the app removes the data from your device.
If you choose to speak an idea rather than type it, the app asks for Microphone and Speech Recognition permission. Both are optional — typing works exactly the same and skips this entirely.
Transcription is performed by Apple’s Speech Recognition service built into iOS. Depending on your device, your language, and iOS settings, Apple may process that audio on your device or on Apple’s servers. We do not receive the audio, and we do not store a recording — we only receive the finished text, on your device, which is then treated like anything you typed. Apple’s handling of speech data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
On supported devices, Domain Seek uses Apple Intelligence’s on-device foundation model to suggest names and to write the advisor’s notes. These prompts are processed locally on your iPhone and are not sent to us or to any third-party AI service. If the device cannot run the model, the app tells you so — there is no fallback name generator.
Checking a domain is inherently a network operation. Domain Seek makes only the requests below. As with any internet request, the receiving service necessarily sees your IP address; none of these requests carries an account, a device identifier, or anything else that identifies you to us.

Each of these is an independent service with its own privacy practices. We do not control them and we send them nothing beyond what is described above.
If you allow notifications, the app can tell you when a sweep finishes or when a domain you are watching changes. These are local notifications generated on your device — there is no push server, and no notification token is sent to us. The app may also use iOS background refresh to re-check domains you are watching; those re-checks are the same registry requests described in section 5.
When you decide to register a domain, the app hands you off to a third-party registrar’s website (for example Namecheap, Porkbun, or Cloudflare). The Business Kit screen links to other independent services in the same way. Once you leave the app you are on their site, subject to their privacy policy and terms — we receive no information about what you do there, and we never see your payment details. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or build a profile of you. There is nothing to sell — we do not hold it.
Domain Seek is a business tool intended for a general audience. It is not directed at children, and because it collects no personal information, it does not knowingly collect information from children.
Because Domain Seek holds no personal data about you on any server we run, there is no account to access, export, correct, or erase, and no request for us to fulfil. You are in direct control: your content lives on your device, and deleting an item in the app — or deleting the app — removes it.
If UK or EU data protection law applies to you, you retain your statutory rights, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). If you believe we hold data about you, contact us and we will respond.
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged in the app where appropriate.
