It helps if you tell us your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the app version (open the ⋯ menu on the New idea screen — the version and build are shown at the top of it).
Speaking your idea needs two permissions: Microphone and Speech Recognition. The first time you tap the mic, iOS asks for both — if either was declined, the mic can't listen.
Turn them back on in Settings → Domain Seek, then tap the mic again. Speech recognition also needs Dictation to be available on the device; where it isn't, the app switches you to the keyboard and says so.
You never have to speak. Tap the keyboard icon at the top of the New idea screen and type the idea instead — the results are identical.
Yes, at the moment of the check. Domain Seek queries the live registry for each extension (the same RDAP data registrars use) rather than a cached list, so what you see is the registry's answer that second.
Domains are registered continuously by other people, so a name that was free during a sweep can be taken minutes later. Always confirm at the registrar before you plan around it — the registrar's checkout is the only binding answer.
No. Domain Seek tells you whether a domain is unregistered, and whether an app of that name is already on the App Store. It does not do trademark clearance. Before you commit to a name commercially, search the trademark registers for your territory, or take professional advice.
Sweeps keep running while the app is in the background, and the app posts a notification when the shortlist is ready. That needs notification permission: Settings → Domain Seek → Notifications. Low Power Mode and a locked screen can also delay background work — reopening the app always shows the finished results.
They stay on your iPhone. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no tracking, and we operate no server that receives your ideas, names, shortlists or notes. The only thing that leaves the device is the domain name being checked, which goes to the relevant registry — that is how a domain check works. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Delete the app. Everything the app stored goes with it, because it was only ever on your device. There is no account to close and no copy of it held by us to request.
Domain Seek is free. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription. If you register a domain, you buy it from the registrar and they charge you — we're not part of that transaction. Some registrar links may earn us a small commission, which never changes your price and never affects what the app reports as available.
